a surgical method for globe slinging with temporalis fascia
Authors
abstract
orbital fat adherence syndrome is a known complication of strabismus, orbital and scleral buckling surgery or orbital trauma which induces a restrictive strabismus. in this case presentation we introduce a surgical method of globe slinging using temporalis fascia for correction of restrictive esotropia due to fat adherence syndrome. in our review of literature we found no report of a similar procedure using temporalis fascia.

Augmented Fascia Temporalis Sling for Paralytic Ectropion; a Triple Surgery
Purpose: To report the effect of fascia temporalis sling of lower lid combined with lateral canthus Y-V plasty and tarsorrhaphy on paralytic ectropion. Methods: Eight patients with lower lid paralytic ectropion were treated with lower lid fascia temporalis sling and lateral canthus Y-V plasty in addition to lateral tarsorrhaphy in one step surgery. A band of approximately 4 cm in length and 1 c...
full textTreatment of temporomandibular joint ankylosis with temporalis superficial fascia flap.
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) ankylosis is characterized by the formation of bony or fibrous mass, which replaces the normal articulation and limitation of mouth opening. This study aims to determine the efficacy of arthroplasty and interpositional fascia flap in the treatment of unilateral and bilateral TMJ ankylosis in three young adult men. Our operative protocol for unilateral and bilateral...

Materials & Methods; Retrospective evaluation of selected cases operated by the same surgery team between 2000 and 2008. A total of 307 patients with a tympanic membrane perforation or retraction due to chronic otitis media were treated surgically with tympanoplasty with or without mastoidectomy. From these 96 cases who had primary repair of tympanic membrane perforation or retraction with inta...
full textA Short-term Comparison Between Result of Palisade Cartilage Tympanoplasty and Temporalis Fascia Technique
Introduction: The use of cartilage as a grafting material has been advocated in cases where there is a high risk of graft failure, such as subtotal perforations, adhesive processes, and residual defects after primary tympanoplasties. The purpose of this study was to compare the graft acceptance rates and auditory outcomes of cartilage tympanoplasty operations using a palisade technique with tho...
full textA novel technique of harvesting temporalis fascia autografts for correction of recurrent blepharoptosis.
Patients with poor levator function require ptosis correction by a sling procedure. A variety of synthetic materials are available for this suspension, but there is a recognized complication rate. Autografts are less prone to infection and extrusion than alloplastic materials. Harvesting temporalis fascia has a number of advantages over the use of fascia lata and outcomes have been effective. A...
